Why an Academy?
Career academies increase the engagement of high school students and provide a way for those beyond the walls of the schools to enhance students' educational experiences. The Butler AOHS provides Butler students with exciting opportunities to add rigor and relevance to their high school experience and will help them become college and career ready. Many of the resources needed to support our AOHS are right in our backyard (CPCC and NOVANT).
What is a Career Academy?
Career academies focus on preparing students for post-secondary education while providing the skills and experience necessary to attain entry-level jobs. Students in career academies typically take both career-themed and academic classes together. These courses are linked to academic and industry standards and encourage high achievement.
